Anthony Perosh, who stepped in at just 2 days notice against Mirko Crocop at UFC 110 last week has been rewarded for his efforts with a 4 fight contract for the promotion.
The natural 205lb fighter took on the feared Croatian striker after several other heavyweights had pulled out or not been available.
It came as no surprise that the much smaller Perosh lost the fight, but he appeared game throughout and didn’t give up. Not to mention he did the UFC a favor with the late fill in, which would otherwise have probably meant Crocop would have had to be pulled from the card.
Perosh has fought before in the UFC, losing two straight fights before being cut. He also has a recent loss to James Te Huna, who also fought on the same card.
Whether Perosh will make all of the four fights without being cut is less than certain, but props to the UFC for giving him the opportunity after he basically volunteered to get beaten up in front of his home crowd.
