This edition of the Boxing truth is the now infamous interview with Paulie Malignaggi where he says he has suspicions about Amir Khan and PED/Steroid use due to his association with the Wild Card gym and Manny Pacquiao.
The rivalry between Khan and Malignaggi started through a war of words which took place on Twitter.
So the story goes, a friend of Khan’s used his account to taunt Malignaggi, who in turn responded.
Despite the fact that Paulie tries to play it down, even admitting suspicion is as good as accusing someone in todays boxing climate.
In other times Khan might have laughed off such chatter, but after the mess and subsequent fall out from the Mayweather and Pacquiao negotiations, fighters are on edge about being tarred with the illegal supplement brush.
Oddly enough, despite his often nonsensical musings on events in the Boxing world, Malignaggi actually comes off pretty well here, and says his training with Buddy McGirt was what set him back during the last couple of fights he’s had.
