Quinton Rampage Jackson has signed to face The Ultimate Fighter rival coach Rashad Evans at UFC114.
The fight was originally intended to have been put together at the end of the last season of the Ultimate Fighter, but Rampage pulled out due to filming commitments with the new A-Team movie.
Evans last fought at UFC 108 where he returned to his wrestling roots to soundly beat the always dangerous Thiago Silva. Jackson last fought at UFC 96 where he beat Keith Jardine.
In statements to the UFC from his blog, Jackson claimed he was done with fighting because of his treatment by the UFC top brass but is now back with the promotion.
The organization also recently filed a law suit against Jackson, who claims that his inactivity due to filming scenes on the A-Team movie should count towards the time limit on hos contract.
When fighters sign with the UFC they usually have a time limit built into their contract in which they are supposed to have all of their fights arranged for them.
When fighters retire, the contracts are suspended and the time limit is suspended also, meaning that fighters can’t retire and wait out their contracts as a way out of them.
