StrikeForce Miami was a resounding success, and added a further 176,000 viewers from its last production.

Although there were probably less top caliber stars on this card than others in the past, marketable stars such as Bobby Lashley,  Cristiane Cyborg and Nick Diaz no doubt helped to boost the numbers.

As did the fact that there were two titles on the line, the women’s and welterweight titles respectively.

Although a replay of a UFC event still drew in ore viewers on Spike, these latest figures are encouraging for the growth of StrikeForce as a potential rival to the UFC someday.

Showtime is available in only 12 million homes, compared to the nearly 100 million of Spike.

Further good news for StrikeForce comes with the announcement that they finalized several TV deals in various locales around the world today, and in the future will be seen on:

Bravo in the UK, Turner in Latin America, FX in Portugal, Ukraine’s Megasport, Seven Network Australia and Dahlia TV in Italy.

The news will be welcomed by fans outside the United States, who in the past have struggled to gain access to many StrikeForce events.
